Jose Salas

Jose Salas is the newest member of the Denver Water family. As a bilingual communications specialist and content writer, Jose hopes to connect any dots between the Latino community and Denver Water. Although Jose was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico, he considers himself a Denver native since he moved to the Mile High City at a young age in 1997. Prior to joining Denver Water, he worked in the nonprofit sector managing social media accounts, marketing and day-to-day operations for two trade associations. Jose married his high school sweetheart, and they have two young children, with a third on the way. Jose loves Denver sports teams, especially the Denver Broncos, but every four years, he dusts off his Mexico jerseys and roots for his national team during the World Cup. Jose spends his free time volunteering at his church, dropping off and picking up his son from basketball and his daughter from dance, or catching a catnap during commercial breaks.

The four-part "Journey of Water" video series traces water's path from mountain to home.
